An inert drama before the crossing
Wait here, said the guide. In the middle of the night, somewhere in a forest, five refugees are waiting to cross their seventh border. They are now in a state of limbo, all inhabiting the space between the urgent need to leave their country and the impossibility of entering a new one. They stand motionless in the half-light. In the midst of a few whispered words, distant sounds and the rustling of the wind, a poetic text recounts their stories: the mother of a small child fleeing the chaos in Afghanistan; the young man trying to dodge military service; the man abandoning his former life to reunite with his lover; the depressed couple in search of a real life. All five are united by the hope of something greater than the fear for their life.
