Festival Belluard Bollwerk International

Programme

Den Sorte Skole

(København)

Multimedia trance made up of sound bites from around the world

Den Sorte Skole means ‘black school’ in Danish. And the duo indeed serves up a sensational music masterclass. Featuring thousands of samples lifted from vinyl records from across the globe and dating from between 1956 and 1996, the performance is a journey through sound that takes in Iranian horns, Syrian flutes, analogue synthesisers from ex-Yugoslavia and sufi chanting from Senegal. Sublime visuals courtesy of Dark Matters provide the backdrop to this multicultural, sensory, and unconventional collage. Welcome to an electrifying and mind-blowing spacetime where rhythm hooks ensnare your entire body.

To round off the evening, DJs Die erträgliche Schwere des Daseins lay down old tunes that should be best forgotten, new tracks that no-one remembers and unassuming hits to bring the 2016 edition of the Belluard Festival crashing to an ever-so gentle end.
