Trojan Pegasus

This Trojan horse is not a ruse of war. The inside of this mobile sculpture offers a glimpse into one of Switzerland’s oldest and most enduring living traditions: open-air theatre. Although primarily practised in rural areas, the Pegasus of Troy has recently brought this thriving living tradition to the attention of the urban public. During the Belluard Festival, visitors will have the chance to discover the stage sets of over 20 open-air theatre productions via the sculpture’s many peepholes, and listen to excerpts from original rehearsal and performance recordings. To accompany the project, a book has also been published, offering an extensive overview of Swiss open-air theatre.
